Make up your mind already, please!
I recall the stories my grandmother shared with me; which pretty much are responsible for this food revolution with in myself. Though not technically sound with microscopes or huge factories or massive testing labs, people in India somehow really had their lives sorted out. Even before local and seasonal became a hashtag, eating according to the climate and the time of the day was the basic lifestyle. Today, it has become a trend. And we are compelled by the 'social-peer-pressure' to take a picture of that 'Buddha Bowl' and post it on Instagram even before we appreciate it with our eyes. Any appreciation, if at all, is through the camera lens.
With the technical revolution around the world, food industry also went through major changes. Thanks to the ever evolving technology, we get to see at least one new product on the shelves each time we visit a grocery store. Some claim to be 'low sodium' while others 'low sugar'. While there are also some that say 'No added fat'. It is a pity, we have become so stupid that we fall prey to these cheap marketing gimmicks.
I think it's just about time we wipe off those dusty old books called 'Aaji's culinary secrets' and start implementing the same in our life. (Aaji= Grandma)
