I & Ayurveda:

An Engineer on paper, an Ayurvedic chef by profession; I am the co-owner of Simmer & Spice. In order to pursue my passion for food, I moved from India to Canada in 2013. Having learnt global cuisines and obtaining professional training in Italian cuisine, I quickly realised Indian cuisine is my true calling. A cuisine that has so many layers to its existence, a cuisine that is so complicated, yet so simple; a cuisine that is mind-boggling for world-famous gastronomers; a cuisine that never ceases to amaze me with its history and flavours.

Indian culture celebrates food through its rich traditions. Hundreds of festivals observed around the year are associated with local and season ingredients. Thousands and thousand years ago, people who inhabited this planet had a deep understanding of the bond between body and soul. And a way to strengthen that bond is through FOOD.

Ayurveda- the science of life is a sister science to Yoga. I passionately write this blog to discover the ancient Ayurvedic culinary art, understand the ingredients and their chemistry with each other, and share some recipe classics.
